Welcome back to school fellow boarders! When I reflect back, it seems like only yesterday when I was very apprehensive to study in a boarding school. But honestly, time has flown by within a blink of an eye. I fail to even recall how these two years of IB have flown by so quickly and you may all agree with me when I say that this in fact holds a big deal. When I thought of joining my first boarding school, I was not sure if I would be able to adjust myself into the environment or even make friends however, the warm welcome given to me by everyone especially from the boarding helped me to accomplish all my tasks and face the challenges that aroused in my way! Whether I talk about the rigorous IB program or the thrilling student council elections, CIS has definitely played a major role in shaping me into the person I am today. Becoming Valedictorian of the Class of 2015 had always been my dream…CIS is a place where dreams come true! I cannot believe that high school is already over! Writing another article for my first love, The CIS Boarding Chronicle (CBC) feels quite different as I feel nostalgic reminiscing all the past memories that we created together as a family. I really never imagined myself saying this but; here I am today stating that I miss boarding. All the fun we had including the town outings, boarding dinners, sports tournaments, ice-cream at the Indomart cafe, midnight birthday celebrations and how could one forget the informative meetings every Tuesday? My favorite part would definitely be writing articles for the Boarding Chronicle! I am very thankful towards the whole boarding team for giving me such a wonderful opportunity of initiating the newsletter. It was a great way of communicating the experiences of the boarders to one and all! I hope that the responsibility of the team falls onto the right hands and that they would make all of us proud! To the new members of the team’ Welcome aboard! I would be very keenly looking forward to their next edition! It has been over three months since I’ve graduated from CIS! Summer has been a really fantastic way to relieve all the stress, which I have been experiencing these past two years. I started off by spending two weeks in West Bengal, Calcutta. It was as hot as a furnace but the visit was totally worth it! Next stop was Jakarta. I finally got time to enjoy everything including food, music, shopping, movies and so much more in my hometown after a very long time indeed. Soon it was time for the IB results and I hadn’t done as expected however, on a more optimistic note, I had put in my 100% leaving me with a guiltless heart in the end at least! Next up was the University enrollment phase. I wasn’t even sure if I was prepared for it but like every cliché sentence mentioned in books, I reminded myself that life always moves on. Before University, I spent another three weeks at the States with my family and friends visiting the beautiful city of Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Lake Tahoe! It was a wonderful experience. The best part without any hesitation would be when I took the risk of overcoming my fears of heights by jumping off a plane 15 000 feet high! I also enjoyed the beautiful scenarios at the Grand Canyon and Lake Tahoe along with the thrilling rides at the Universal Studios Hollywood. Not to mention, the food and shopping was an out of the world experience! I had a wonderful time overall and I look forward to hoping onto the next train of my life to the University of Kent in the UK. I am forever grateful to CIS for helping me grow as an individual. I hope to visit CIS really soon and get together with my wonderful teachers and friends! Before I end this article, I would like to welcome all the new boarders to our beautiful boarding family! Hope all of you are feeling comfortable and having fun in the boarding. Don’t forget to take part in every possible event; you’ll regret it if you don’t! To the old members, welcome back once again. Hope your summer went really well. To all the IB students, Good luck climbing the steepest mountain on earth. Always keep your determinations and dreams intact, as there always appears a bright and colorful rainbow after the rain. Wishing everyone the very best for their future endeavors. I would love to keep in touch with everyone. Feel free to contact me if you need any help or advice. CBC team, I’m always there if you need my help.
