It is customary at the Boarding, to celebrate the end of the calendar year with a big dinner out in town. This year, Kesavarthini writes about what it was like for her.
On the 6th of December 2015, the whole boarding or well, I can say the vast majority of us, minus a few of the weekly boarders that could not make it, had a scrumptious dinner at barbecue nation, in Kammanahalli. I was really excited, as I had been waiting for this for an entire year. We went to the same place as last year and so I was extremely happy as the food there is just so good. This happened on a Sunday evening as there was no school the following Monday, yeah! It was a really good weekend as we had a town outing on Saturday and then the boarding dinner on Sunday. We all travelled there by school transportation and the journey took about 45 min. Once we had attained out destination, I couldn't even wait to be seated and start eating! As usual, as we got settled the waiters brought the small barbecues, for us to keep our starters sizzled! We had spicy prawns, juicy chicken kebabs on skewers and many more… too good ! After that, we had a buffet spread with a variety of different dishes like byriani, gravy delicacies etc. There was just so much to eat that we all dug into the food and just could not stop eating. I had to leave some space in my stomach as I had not forgotten the desserts. Even with the desserts, there was a huge choice of sweet treats and there was ice cream too. Delicious. I'm sure we were all very satisfied with the food. As I looked around, I could see the other boarders all laughing and eating at the same time and talking loudly. I'll never forget this day as we all had so much of fun with food and friends together which strengthened our bond. By Kesavarthini, Grade 10.
