Saturday 19th of September 2015, early morning, all the IB boarders along with Mr Regis and his son, Mr and Mrs. Kings, Mr Robert, a few other teachers, and of course (we cannot forget them) little miss Hannah and Emily headed on a bus to 'Bananthimari Peak', in Kanakapura. The trekking started off with a departure from the resort we had booked, called 'Life Trees Resort. After seeing some farm workers lay out silk worms on their cane trays, we began walking through paddy and millet fields and then slowly going through mountainous terrains and forest patches with a few stops in between. Before we reached our ideal destination (the cave) , we walked for about two hours and a few minutes and most of us felt like we were about to pass out. Nevertheless, we continued trekking and reached our destination and I cannot lie, we all had a feeling of great accomplishment that made all of our sweating and walking worth it. We could almost see the whole world from the top of the cave. After taking about a million pictures, we made our way back to the resort. The resort already had our lunch ready, and with the combination of tiredness and hungriness, lunch never tasted so good. Mr. Regis already had an activity planned for us: zip line. Which was optional but we can recall almost everyone going. It was quite an experience landing in the water with a splash. Later, most of us ended up leisurely swimming in the lake. Some of us even jumped off from the platform in the middle of the lake. After a few hours, the day ended with some tea/ coffee with snacks and we were totally exhausted. The return on the bus seemed fast as we slept most of the time... By Jyotsna and Yun
