3rd February, 2018. Another Saturday the boarding filled with the same old team spirit
and the oneness of being part of the same CIS family, as we all came together to organise the “Chaitanya Day,”. An experience so gratifying. Personally, I was in charge of notifying all the teams about the time to move to the next station. I also had to make sure that the transition from one stand to the next was as smooth as possible and that the teams found their ways to each of them. Personally, I think this was a bit challenging but then how could I not say ‘cheers!’ To all my fellow boarders for being so understanding as some of the teams got delayed. All of the station masters’s enthusiasm was vibrant and it filled all of the little kids of the Chaitanya School with sheer excitement. They were all giggly as they moved from one stand to the next. They danced with jollity alongside Laya,on the vibes of the upbeat songs played by Ubay. The spirits were high as they aimed at the cup pyramids conducted by Bhuvan, Aman and Vinay. Heads up and Kahoot quiz left them awed. Their concentration was just brilliant. Indeed under the felicity radiant by Ryka, Manvika, Momin and Pranav the games were total hit. Their shooting skills were proved to be like a sniper as they aimed at the balloons for ‘blow and burst the balloon,’under our own Vallika, Aman and Varun. Splash! The fun increased as comrade Shareth and Afridi got all drenched by the wet sponge attack by the kids. They were just enthralled by the fun. The musical section was a real in tune as Mr. Sandeep explained as many instruments to the kids. Thanks to Austin who managed the kids so well there! Next came the Pictionary- Vedant, Khush and Habib were just awesome. The kids were head over heels to guess what their teammates were illustrating on the boards. It was all fun! Oh!! How how can we forget the show stopping section, ‘The Ice Bucket Challenge!’ The freezing water made the best of us go numb as the quest to undo the bolts drove them forward. What else can we say to Mehul, Ruzan & Sia’s exuberance was just impressive. Mrs. Radhika was indeed the coolest in this group though and the kids just love her. Our fun was boundless and the stupendous day was just made perfect by the heartwarming smiles of the kids as Mehul, Shareth, Vallika and I handed them the packs of cookies. No words can suffice for the contentment we felt in our hearts. It was just marvellous. -Swati Biswas. (IB-1, Boarding Chronicles Club)
